Navy Legacy Resource Management Program

The Navy Legacy Resource Management Program collection documents Navy-related activities in the Legacy Resource Management Program between 1990 and 1999, though a small portion of the collection dates to the 1970s and 1980s.  The Legacy program was designed to identify, protect, and maintain natural and cultural resources on all lands under Department of Defense jurisdiction.  Subjects include preservation and identification of archaeological sites, wetlands, historic shipwrecks, Native American burial grounds, and 19th century base buildings.  Administrative files and published reports make up the majority of the collection and there is a small amount of audiovisual material.
