The Museum's outstanding collection of air and spacecraft, related artifacts, and documentary collections includes much material of interest to the naval air historian. The archival collection of more than 10,000 cubic feet includes 1.7 million photographs, technical drawings of naval aircraft, and technical manuals for those aircraft. Of particular note is the Archives' collection of microfilmed record cards for stricken naval aircraft, 1911-1965, filed by serial number, and active record cards, 1966-1986. Also important are the photo collections of Rudy Arnold and Hans Groenhoff. The Admiral Dewitt Clinton Ramsey Room houses the National Air and Space Museum Library's collection of rare materials concerning aeronautics and space flight and includes material on naval aviation history. Information on specific holdings is available through the Smithsonian Institution Libraries' online catalog at http://www.siris.si.edu.
