USS Constitution Begins Summer Hours, New ‘Experience’
CHARLESTOWN, Mass.– The crew of USS Constitution will shift to summer operating hours April 1.
Summer operating hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., 30-minute “Tours of Duty” aboard “Old Ironsides” will be offered every half-hour until 4:30 p.m. |

NAVAL STATION NEWPORT, Rhode Island – USS Constitution crewmembers practice pipe patching aboard the floating wet trainer “Buttercup” December 7. The trainer, which submerges into a 38,000 gallon pool, simulates a sinking ship to provide a realistic environment for teaching Sailors damage control techniques. USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world and America’s Ship of State, is manned by 74 active duty U.S. Navy Sailors and is visited by nearly half a million people annually.
