A German gun emplacement located near the town of Ste. Marie du Mont, a short distance behind "Utah" Beach, showing damage inflicted by Allied gunfire during the Normandy invasion.
Photographed on 10 September 1944, more than three months after U.S. troops landed there on "D-Day", 6 June 1944.
