Preliminary design plan prepared by the Bureau of Ships during preparation of what became the Des Moines (CA-134) class heavy cruiser design.
This plan, dated 1 December 1943, includes details on the ship's armor protection and internal subdivision.

The original plan is in the 1939-1944 "Spring Styles Book".
