Winifred (American Tanker, 1898)
Photographed before World War I by Verkin Photo Company of Galveston, Texas.
This steamer was placed in commission at Liverpool, England, on 21 June 1918 as USS Winifred (ID # 1319). After operating between Britain and France during World War I, she was returned to her owner on 13 March 1919.
The original photograph is in Record Group 19-LCM in the National Archives.
