Washington Navy Yard, D.C.
View of a large timber storage shed in the northwestern part of the Navy Yard, taken by Brady & Company in June 1866.
Note the armor test pieces at the left, showing the effects of large projectiles fired at them, and the ornate guard tower in the right distance.
The photograph looks NNW from west of the present (1997) Building 104. This timber storage shed occupied the Navy Yard's western boundary, running north from the present Tingy Street.
