    "Souvenir Folders"-- Part II: "Statue of Liberty" type folders.
    These folders all have identically printed covers, on at least six different colors of paper (tan, light tan, orange-tan, gray, green-gray and light green). Those for which a publisher is identified were produced by A.M. Simon, 324 E. 23rd St., New York City. Listing Continued:

    The following images show the covers of Souvenir Folders concerning the World War I era U.S. Navy transports Imperator, Madawaska and Zeppelin, and the battleship Pennsylvania. Links to the individual photographs they contain are also provided, generally listed in the order they appear in the folder. Note that the views in the Imperator folder were all taken prior to her U.S. Navy service.

    "Souvenir Folder", published circa 1919 by A.M. Simon, 324 E. 23rd St., New York City, featuring ten halftone reproductions of photographs of and on board the ship. It was mailed from USS Pennsylvania on 12 July 1921, addressed to Mr. W.B. Hammond of Hamburg, New York.
    The first photo in this folder is identical to NH 42730. The others are: NH 104169, NH 104170, NH 104171, NH 104172, NH 104173, NH 104174, NH 104175, NH 104176, and NH 104177.

    Covers of two "Souvenir Folders", published circa 1918-1919, that feature ten halftone reproductions of photographs of and on board the ship.
    These individual photographs have Photo #s NH 103975, NH 103976, NH 103977, NH 103978, NH 103979, NH 103980, NH 103981, NH 103982, NH 103983 and NH 103984.
    One of the covers is printed on tan colored paper, and the other is on light green paper. Their contents are identical, except that the location of the images with Photo #s NH 103978 and NH 103979 is reversed in the tan folder.

  • "Souvenir Folders"-- Part III: Souvenir Folders for which the cover is missing. The only folder in this category, concerning USS Orizaba (ID # 1536), was almost certainly of the "Statue of Liberty" type. Donated in 1972, it was the first item of this type in the Naval Historical Center's photographic collections and was not associated with the Souvenir Folder series until 2005, after we received others of the type.
