Purchased for service in 1885, this ship served as a cruiser, transport, torpedo school ship, royal yacht, staff ship, and exhibition ship during her naval career. This photograph was taken before World War I while she was acting as the royal yacht. TRINACRIA was built as the British liner AMERICA.
