Welcome to the Naval History & Heritage Command

Navy museums will close one day per week beginning the week of July 8th until further notice to absorb reductions resulting from the announced federal furlough. The Puget Sound Navy Museum (Bremerton, Wash.) will close on FRIDAYS. All other museums will close on MONDAYS. For further details, refer to the individual museum pages in the Museum List section below.

Our museums and heritage sites are dedicated to making available the artifacts, documents, and art that best embody our naval history and heritage for present and future generations.

We make our naval history and heritage "come alive", reminding all Americans of the need to maintain a strong Navy and Marine Corps to protect its citizens, their freedoms and the nation's maritime commerce.
