Officers of the Navy and Marine Corps who tendered their resignations during the early part of the Civil War and were dropped from the rolls. One of five sheets (folio). Identifying U.S. naval officers who resigned in 1861 and 1862, many of whom joined the Confederate Navy; e.g., Franklin Buchanan and Matthew Maury.
