Starboard Unit, a motor boat, was acquired by the Navy from Joseph W. Marsh on 5 November 1918 under free lease. She was leased for use as a section patrol craft; but, since World War I ended only six days after her acquisition, she was never commissioned and was returned to her owner on 5 March 1919.
