A city in Virginia roughly 150 miles west of Richmond.

 

[A river flowing east southeast from Montgomery County across southern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina until emptying into Albermarle Sound [sic; Albemarle Sound].

Roanoke was a schooner transferred from the State Department to the Navy in 1814 for service in the War of 1812. No record of her operations had been found. She was sold at Wilmington, Del., in 1816.
