Repulse
(Xebec: armament 8 guns)
The xebec Repulse, a lateen-rigged sailing vessel, was built for the Pennsylvania State Navy in the summer of 1775 and was loaned to the Continental Navy in 1777. During the fall of that year she assisted in the defense of Philadelphia, but after the destruction of Fort Mifflin and the evacuation of Fort Mercer, she was destroyed to prevent her capture by British forces.
