Maggie

A former name retained.

(SP‑1202: t. 606 (gr.); l. 164'; b. 29')

Maggie, a houseboat barge, was built in 1869; acquired by the Navy for $6,000 from Joseph Voigt of Norfolk, Va., in June 1917; and placed in service the same month.

Assigned to the 5th Naval District, Maggie served throughout World War I as a floating barracks off of Cherry Island, Va. After the Armistice she was placed out of service and was sold 14 July 1920 to J.M. Clark & Co., Norfolk, Va., for scrap.
