Lake Mary, a cargo ship, was launched 22 May 1918 by Great Lakes Engineering Works, Ecorse, Mich.; acquired by the Navy; and commissioned at Cardiff, Wales, 29 November 1918, Comdr. Martin Nugent, USNRF, in command.
Assigned to NOTS, Lake Mary operated as a coal transport out of Cardiff, sailing between British and French ports for 3 months. Assigned to the U.S. Food Administration 6 February 1919, Lake Mary carried relief food shipments among the ports of Rotterdam, Danzig, and Newcastle until 3 July, when she departed Barry Roads for the United States. Arriving New York 19 July, Lake Mary decommissioned on the 26th, and was returned to USSB the same day. She was sold in 1927 to the Ford Motor Co. and scrapped
