LST-418

 

LST-418 was laid down on 2 November 1942 at Baltimore, Md., by the Bethlehem Fairfield Co.; launched on 30 November 1942; and transferred to the United Kingdom and commissioned in the Royal Navy on 29 January 1943. LST-418 proceeded south to the Mediterranean and participated in Operation SHINGLE (the landings at Anzio, Italy), where she was sunk on 16 February 1944 by two underwater explosions. LST-418 was struck from the Navy list on 16 May 1944.
