Starlight

(Slr)

Starlight, a Confederate steamer, was active in the Mississippi River. She reportedly transported released Confederate prisoners of war in the region of Port Hudson during early May 1863. On 26 May she was seized in Thompson's Creek, north of Port Hudson, by Union Army forces commanded by Colonel Prince. During the remainder of 1863 and 1864 Starlight was employed by the Union as a transport in the Red and Mississippi Rivers.
