Henry J. King, also known as H. J. King and King, served as a Confederate transport between Selma and Mobile, Ala., during 1864. On 14 April 1865 she was captured with a valuable cargo of provisions by Union Army forces on the Coosa River, Ala., and sent in to Montgomery as a prize.
