Golden Age

(Str)

Golden Age was probably in use as an Army transport in the Mississippi River area. She was sunk in May 1863 as an obstruction in the Yazoo River about 15 miles below Fort Pemberton to impede advancing Union forces.

She is mentioned as being "prepared with cotton bales" to carry 500 soldiers, in April 1863.
