Canarsee was a leading Indian tribe of Long Island, N.Y.
Canarsee (YTB-703) was launched on 1 March 1946 by the Bethlehem Steel Co., San Pedro, Calif. Completed in April of that year she was assigned duty in the llth Naval District where she continues to render service.
