Bonaci

Any of a species of food fish, groupers, found in waters of the Indies and off the Florida coast.

-----

The name Bonaci was originally assigned to SS-329 on 23 August 1942, but that fleet submarine was renamed Chubb on 24 September of the same year. Laid down on 16 September 1943, at Groton, Conn., by the Electric Boat Co., the ship was again renamed Chub (q.v.) on 24 May 1944 to correct an error in spelling.
