Busy

I

(BYT 1: dp, 310 (light); l. 102’; b. 24’; dr. 12’)

Busy (BYT-1)—an Allaquippa-class harbor tug constructed in 1941 by General Motors and the Gulfport Boiler & Welding Works—was transferred to the United Kingdom (under the terms of the lend lease agreement) on 3 December 1941. She served in the Royal Navy until the end of 1945 at which time she was returned to the United States Navy at New York. The harbor tug saw no service with the Navy, and her name was struck from the Navy list on 10 June 1947. Presumably, she was sold for scrap.
