No. 1 Austrian 6-pounder Howitzer

Austrian 6-Pounder Bronze Rifled Howitzer: This is an early version of its type. Its form and dimensions show a clear relationship to the newer pieces nearby, but its ornamentation is in sharp contrast to their functional lines. The three Austrian howitzers seen here were captured in the blockade-runner Columbia in 1862.
