Sterling Silver Urn/Cup presented to Admiral George Dewey by citizens of Savannah,Georgia on March 20th 1900.

The Curator Branch of the NHHC at the Washington Navy Yard has relocated collections deemed to be at "High Risk" to new storage facilities. These facilities are not co-located with the Curator Branch, limiting access. Please take this into account when requesting information with regard to these collections. Email inquiries to nhhccurator@navy.mil.

Resource restrictions require that we limit new loan requests to official Navy and Department of Defense requesters only. Renewal of existing loans and processing of loan requests submitted for review prior to 1 March 2013 will be handled according to policies existing at that time. Thank you for your understanding as we focus our limited resources on preserving and conserving our priceless artifact collections.

As principal custodian of the Navy's material heritage, the Curator Branch ensures the proper documentation, care, and preservation of the Navy's historical artifact and photograph collections, and makes them available to the Navy and to the public in order to develop a better understanding of and fuller support for the Navy.
