Curator Branch

Sterling Silver Urn/Cup presented to Admiral George Dewey by citizens of Savannah,Georgia on March 20th 1900.

The majority of the Navy's central historic artifact collection is stored offsite as part of a long-term initiative to improve accountability and environmental conditions. In addition the collections management database is currently off-line. Therefore, the ability to fulfill requests for information about the collection is extremely limited. No requests for new loans can be entertained until the database is back on-line. Any change in status will be posted on this webpage.

As principal custodian of the Navy's material heritage, the Curator Branch ensures the proper documentation, care, and preservation of the Navy's historical artifacts, and makes them available to the Navy and to the public in order to develop a better understanding of and fuller support for the Navy.
