Biographical Note
Samuel S. Sukowitz was a Specialist 2nd Class in the U.S. Maritime Service. He served at the Service's Training Station on Hoffman Island in New York, where he worked on the staff of the Station's weekly newspaper, which began publication in 1942.
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists largely of correspondence received by the Hoffman Island Training Station regarding their weekly newspaper. Also included are a few pieces of official correspondence relating to Sukowitz's service. The correspondence is arranged chronologically.
