Scope and Content Note
This collection contains the records and correspondence of Lieutenant Commander Sidney Sideman, an orthopedic surgeon in the Pacific theater during World War II. There is correspondence, dated from 23 November 1944 to 8 November 1945, from Sideman's patients. Other correspondence, from 17 August 1943 to 1 November 1950, relating to official matters is present as well. The collection also contains a statistical survey of treatment, approximately 120 patient cards, medical charts, and the March 1945 issue of Hygeia magazine. Finally, there is a group of newspaper clippings on the death of Robert Roark, a journalist.
