Scope and Content Note
This collection contains a personal diary, covering the period from 8 December 1941 to 28 June 1942, relating to Commander Earl Sackett's service on USS Canopus in the Pacific theater during World War II. The collection also includes correspondence recommending awards, a monograph written by Sackett concerning Blue Jacket activities on Bataan, a brief log of USS Canopus during the 1941-1943 period, and photographs of Canopus and Mariveles Harbor.
