Scope and Content Note
The bulk of this collection consists of correspondence between Admiral George Dewey, his second wife, and his son. Some family correspondence after Admiral Dewey's death in 1917 is included as well. There are two brief diaries kept by Dewey in 1893 and 1899. The entire collection has been reproduced on microfilm and photocopies. The Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress holds the major collection of Admiral Dewey's papers.
