Charlestown Navy Yard

USS CONSTITUTION, the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat, promotes the United States Navy and America’s naval heritage through educational outreach, public access and historic demonstrations both in port and underway. Located in Charlestown Navy Yard and part of Boston's Freedom Trail, the ship is open for FREE PUBLIC GUIDED TOURS throughout the year. ALL PERSONS AGE 18 AND OLDER MUST PRESENT A VALID FEDERAL OR STATE-ISSUED PHOTO I.D. OR PASSPORT TO BOARD THE SHIP.

Visitors to Old Ironsides will have the opportunity to tour the ship's top three decks (spar, gun, and berth). Each deck will be manned by one of Constitution's active duty U.S. Navy Sailors, who will be on-hand to answer visitors' questions in addition to giving brief guided tours to illustrate Constitution's storied past.

* Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time for a mandatory airport-style security screening, which is required for all visitors (civilian & military, even in uniform).

** Tour times and formats are subject to change due to factors including weather conditions, tidal conditions and tour group sizes.
