
Palatka
A city in Florida. Palatka is a Seminole Indian word meaning “spilled.”

Palatka (YTB–801) was laid down 29 November 1968 by Southern SB Corp., Slidell, La.; launched 19 August 1969; and delivered 7 November 1969, to the 5th Naval District.
Palatka is a Large Harbor Tug specially configured to berth and dock nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers. She is also equipped to provide emergency rescue and other services. Though not a commissioned vessel, Palatka will serve quietly but relentlessly through many years of hard work for the U.S. Navy.
